Milwaukee Area Technical College

The Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) Fire Service Training Facility is located at the MATC South Campus in Oak Creek. This facility is the hands on training site for students enrolled in the Fire Protection Technician Associate Degree (FPTAD) program. The facility is also available for State Fire Certification training, Fire Department In-service training, and private sector business and industry training. The facility includes a three story masonry burn building, three props for ladder and roof operations training, natural gas props for class A, B, & C fire extinguisher training as well as vehicle fire training, and response to natural gas emergencies, a Swede Survival Flashover Simulator, a Driver Operator Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) track, and two Pierce Fire Engines (2016 & 1992).

The 2 year, 70 credit, Fire Protection Technician Associate Degree program is state aligned with the Wisconsin Technical College System Fire Service Training office. Students in the MATC FPTAD program have the opportunity to earn State Certifications in Firefighter I with Haz Mat Operations, Firefighter II, Driver Operator Pumper, Fire Inspector I, and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
