Assessment Conference

The Assessment Conference is organized in the spring of each ‘odd’ calendar year, and is hosted by a Wisconsin Technical College. This conference provides a forum for college teams to learn more about assessment at a variety of levels, including student readiness assessment, student learning outcomes assessment, classroom assessment, course and program evaluation, and institutional assessment.

BOSS+

The Business Occupations System Symposium (BOSS)+ Conference occurs each fall semester. The conference provides an opportunity for WTCS deans and faculty in the Accounting, Administrative Professional, Business Analyst, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resources, Leadership Development, Marketing, and Hospitality programs to network and to learn about promising practices across programs in each of the 16 WTCS Districts.

Common Ground

The Common Ground Conference is an annual event typically held in the fall which brings together Adult Education and ELL faculty/staff, Developmental/General College instructors, General Education instructors, and community partners.  The focus of the conference is to learn about promising practices in administration and delivery of instruction and services for students who are developing academic and language skills needed to earn credentials and improve their competitiveness in the workforce.  The audience that attends this conference includes WTCS instructors, community-based and literacy agency staff, instructors/staff working with justice-involved individuals, and instructors/staff working in support of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA).

WISCORE

The first WTCS Conference on Race and Ethnicity (WISCORE) took place in January 2020 at Madison Area Technical College. A WTCS student came up with the idea for the event while meeting with a group of WTCS faculty, staff, and students at the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education (NCORE). The WTCS Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Committee along with a group of students created the event with the intention of:

  • Connecting students, staff, and faculty of color and those focused on increasing equity and inclusion with each other
  • Building system-wide momentum around increased equity and inclusion
  • Gaining tools for:
    • Creating inclusive campuses for students, staff, and faculty of color
    • Creating buy-in for institutional inclusion
    • Being an effective leader while practicing self-care
    • navigating difficult spaces

WISCORE is an annual event.
