  • Gain the most current knowledge and trends related to affinity groups
  • Identify the mechanics for successful formation and nurturing of affinity groups based upon a wide range of best practices
  • Understand how various affinity groups work within the organization and across industries
  • Apply the competencies needed for successful leadership of affinity groups
  • Develop an action plan with strategies and tactics for affinity groups

Audience

WTCS employees (faculty and staff), particularly those looking for avenues to foster inclusive environments and support various groups of underrepresented populations.

Speakers

Markus Achord is an accomplished leader in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Supplier diversity field with extensive experience in the design and execution of strategies to drive sustainable change. In his current role as the Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging for Sunrun, the leading home solar panel and battery storage company, he leads a team focused on making solar inclusive for all. Prior to Sunrun his career included D&I leadership positions at companies like CareFusion, Symantec, Best Buy and Google.

Angela Russell is the Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and is the Vice President of the CUNA Mutual Foundation at CUNA Mutual Group. Angela is responsible for leading the development, direction and implementation of short and long-term strategies and programs that support Diversity & Inclusion. In 2018, Ms. Russell was named as one of the nation’s most powerful diversity executives by Black Enterprise magazine.
