Immigrant Professional College and Career Connections

Refugee and immigrant learners face unique challenges when pursuing a diploma, degree, or credential. The Immigrant Professional  College and Career Connections pilot program provides navigation and career support for refugee and immigrant learners. The pilot program enhances talent attraction and retention by addressing barriers to education and the workforce, navigation through a career pathway, and community integration.   

Program eligibility

  • Be an immigrant or refugee authorized to work in the USA or eligible for work authorization
  • Interest in finding employment or upskilling

Program Locations

This program is currently available at Fox Valley Technical College, Madison Area Technical College, and Milwaukee Area Technical College to provide refugees and immigrants  the following services:

  • Career and Education Guidance: Meet Navigators who can help you explore job and education
    options. Develop a career plan.  Enroll in coursework.
  • Credential Evaluation: Get support with translating and recognizing foreign diplomas.
  • U.S. Job Skills: Learn about U.S. work culture and connect with local employers.
  • Community Resources:  Access language and career services tailored for immigrants and refugees
  • Limited financial assistance:   Limited resources available to help with school and work-related costs,and  credential translation or evaluation based. Eligibility to be determined through program intake.
