Strategies for Teaching Low-Beginning English Learners
Strategies for Teaching Low-Beginning English Learners
During this 60-minute webinar, participants will learn about strategies for teaching low-beginning English learners. We’ll consider how to assess both the literacy ability and language ability of students, and how to use that information in grouping students and in lesson planning. You’ll also see demonstrations of specific strategies for teaching Foundational Literacy Skills to adult English learners, and discuss the importance of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM).
Jennifer Christenson is an experienced teacher of low-beginning English learners based in Salt Lake City, UT. Jennifer is the creator of abc English, a collection of resources for teaching literacy and language to beginning-level English learners, particularly those who have little or no formal education in their home language.
