Transition to PowerBI:

The Wisconsin Technical College System is transitioning from Tableau to Microsoft PowerBI to enhance data visualization capabilities for continuous improvement. PowerBI, available at no extra cost for most colleges through Microsoft Office 365 A5 licenses, offers quality analytics similar to Tableau. The System Office will convert existing Tableau Dashboards to PowerBI, completing ongoing projects and pausing new requests until August 2024.

Update 6/28/2024: Due to limited IT resources, we are currently unable to confirm the exact availability date of the Power BI dashboards. We anticipate being able to provide a more detailed timeline within the next week or two. In the meantime, we recommend that colleges capture any necessary data and visuals from the existing Tableau dashboards for your college’s annual program reviews. This proactive measure will help ensure that you have all the information you need at hand. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this period of change.

WTCS Dashboards and Transition to Power BI Status:

For the transition to Power BI, the statuses in order are (1) Data transfer to Power BI, (2) Dashboard development within Power BI, (3) User testing of Power BI Dashboard, (4) Power BI Dashboard is Published, and (5) User access.
