WI IET Basic Design Camp: Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) Edition

Training Dates: January 29th, 2024- April 8th, 2024

Design Camp Objectives:

Guidance for local providers to develop, design, and implement IETs using IELCE activities and programs for English language learners.

Content will be reviewed but not repeated from the  Fall 2023 WI IET Basic Design Camp.  Content for these sessions are taken from the Enhancing Access for Refugees and New American project. 

Format: 15 minute presentation followed by activities and interactive discussions.

Who can attend?

Open to any interested provider.  We highly recommend that at least 1 person from each organization  attend each session to ensure consistency.  Local providers are welcome to invite staff to the sessions.

Session #1:  Using Bridge Strategies to Connect IELCE Activities to IET, January 29th, 9:00-9:45 AM

Topics: Understand  difference between IELCE activities( district funded or AEFLA Section 231) and IELCE programs ( AEFLA section 243)

Regardless of funding stream, explore other state models to bridge English language learners to IETs, post-secondary, and employment.
